Our First Peacock to hatch at the Farm ( so excited)

Yesterday June 1, 2015 we had our first peacock hatch in the incubator. We did not expect any to hatch so we were surprised and thrilled. This is the second year attempting to hatch peacock eggs the first year we did not have any success.

If we are really lucky and I mean really lucky one or more will also hatch. It was funny because I had said one of the eggs looked like it was moving (ever so slightly) however I said I was not sure if it was truly moving or if I wanted it so badly that I was seeing something that was not there. Now the egg that hatched was the one that was moving. The egg that hatched was Scar’s.

Scar is my Goth child peacock. Does not like to be photographed and is often by herself. Jay-lo is my pre-Madonna loves to be photographed and always right there to see what is going on.

I have photos I took yesterday in the incubator and I took some photos in the brooding box this morning (June 2, 2015). The chicks in the brooding box are a little over a week old. The chicks will help teach the peachick how to eat and give it comfort too. ( no one really likes being alone, smile)

We have crossed two hurtles the first one being it hatched, second one it survived the night. If the peachick survives tonight we are looking good. No matter what we have done wonders over our first attempt last year.

enjoy the pictures :)

Hebrews : 11:1

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
